Good Start Formula is a baby formula manufactured by the Nestle company and packaged under the Gerber name. According to the Gerber website, Henri Nestle began producing the world's first commercially prepared baby formula in 1867. The Good Start baby formula line is milk-based and contains 100 percent whey protein. Because of this, refrigerated formula may break down into layers while waiting to be used. Shake the bottle before feeding to mix the layers back together.

Read the label on the Good Start Formula can for the correct amounts of water and powdered formula for the size bottle you are making.

Measure the water and pour into a clean sterilized baby bottle.

Add the appropriate amount of powdered formula to the baby bottle using the scoop provided in the can. Use one level scoop of powdered formula for every 2 fl. oz. of water.

Place the cap on the bottle and shake vigorously to combine the formula and water.

Things You Will Need

  • Measuring cup
  • Water
  • Sterilized baby bottle with cap

Tip

The can of powdered baby formula should be kept covered and stored in a cool dry place. When using the scoop to measure the powdered formula, do not pack the powder. Be sure to wash your hands and utensils before mixing baby formula.

Warning

Do not use a microwave to warm baby formula, as this could result in burns. Prepared bottles of baby formula should be immediately refrigerated and used within 24 hours.
