Kids Cheer Camps in the USA

Universal Cheerleaders Association

Universal Cheerleaders Association offers several options for cheer camps 12. Twenty-four camps can be found nationwide for cheerleaders. Universal also offers options for instructors to come to a location to set up a camp for a group of participants. Participants can expect to learn skills from coaches who are certified by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators 23. Along with cheer skills, participants are taught leadership skills and moral-building skills to use within their community. Universal Camps include dance classes, extreme tumbling instruction and videos of routines to take home.

National Cheerleaders Association

The cheerleading camps offered by National Cheerleaders Association can be tailored to meet specific cheer requirements 123. It offers overnight camps where participants can travel to the location and stay while attending camp. NCA also offers an option for camp instructors to travel to the home town of the participants and provide specific curriculum chosen by home-town coaches. NCA staff are AACCA certified and offer one-on-one time with participants for more tailored coaching. Coaches for NCA focus not only on routines and stunts, but also help with team building. Participants will be taught new cheers, jumps, dances and basket builders.

American Cheerleaders Association

The American Cheerleaders Association offers nationwide camps taught by AACCA certified coaches 12. This camp teaches individual cheer techniques and team routines. Participants will learn new dances, stunts, and techniques to increase crowd involvement. ACA also offers awards in their camps for individual performance and group performance to increase motivation and participation. ACA coaches use team-building training, and change up their leadership program every year. This helps them keep the camps new and interesting. The coaches focus on togetherness while still offering individual training.

Spirit Xpress Cheerleading

The Spirit Xpress Cheerleading group has its camps in Chapel Hill, North Carolina 3. It has private camps and residential camps, along with advanced camps and choreography-specific camps. If participants choose private camps, they are provided training for their needs. Spirit Xpress Cheerleading maintains a 1:7 teacher to student ratio in order to provide more one-on-one attention 3. Residential camps include the general curriculum of the camp, but still maintain the 1:7 ratio. Spirit Xpress also provides choreography specific camps for those teams looking to train for dance competitions 3. This camp has an array of classes, within a smaller, more intimate camp setting.
