Cleveland has a yearly calendar of Friday night sports action. Progressive Field, downtown home field of the Indians baseball team, and First Energy Stadium, where the NFL's Cleveland Browns play, invite teenage sports fans to take in Friday evening games. The city also offers professional basketball action on Fridays at Quicken Loans Arena, where teens can watch the NBA's Cleveland Cavilers take on competitors. The arena also hosts the Lake Erie Monsters, of the American Hockey League, and the Gladiators, Cleveland's representatives in the American Football League. The number of amateur and professional teams give teens a wide range of Friday night games.

The Arts

Teens interested in music have opportunities to listen to music on Friday nights. The Beachland Ballroom, located in the Waterloo Arts District in the Collinwood neighborhood, features a variety of music genres, including punk, folk and rock. Teens can browse for records at the local music stores near the ballroom or view art at the neighborhood galleries before the Friday evening show. The House of Blues in downtown Cleveland also has a regular schedule of Friday night performances for teens that include more than blues music. The downtown music venue also serves food.

Teens looking for a night of exercise or physical activity have a variety of places in Cleveland. The Jump Yard closes the entertainment and play facility to all but teenagers age 11 through 15 years old every Friday night. This gives teens a chance to jump on massive inflatable toys and use the yard's arcade machines and games. Cleveland's Rock Gym features different climbing walls for Friday teen fun. New climbers must make reservations for a training session, but experienced climbers can walk in for a Friday evening climb. The gym offers discounts for teens in college on Fridays.

Friday night dining for teens features Cleveland restaurants and cafes with a variety of menu offerings and casual settings. Tommy's Restaurant, located in the Coventry neighborhood of Cleveland Heights, serves a menu filled with vegetarian options, including pancakes, grilled cheese, falafels and hand-dipped milkshakes. Teens can choose from a variety of pizzas at Mama Santa's Restaurant and Pizzeria for a Friday evening meal or a quick snack. Mama Santa's has served pizzas to teens at the Little Italy eatery since 1961.
