Everything is bigger in Texas, including some over-the-top kid-friendly cabin campgrounds. From lakefront luxury cabins to chatting with characters from Yogi the Bear, campgrounds in Texas have amenities the whole family will enjoy. While many Texas cabin campgrounds are kid-friendly in general, some go above and beyond to entertain families with children and make them feel welcome.

Parks with Character

Yogi the Bear hosts five Jellystone Parks in Texas. Located in Waller, Canyon Lake, Tyler, Fredricksburg and Burlestone, Jellystone Parks feature a variety of cabin options and are packed with children's activities. Activities include full water parks, mazes, inflatables, petting zoos, miniature golf, sports complexes, hiking trails, arcade games and outdoor theaters. Jellystone parks also have a full calender of events, from ice cream socials to poolside dance parties. There is always something happening at these all-inclusive cabins. Yogi and his friends live at the campgrounds and make daily appearances. This provides a special photo opportunity for the family and time for the children to talk with a favorite character. Also be on the lookout for Ranger Smith, who can be found occasionally stomping across the campgrounds looking to catch Yogi stealing a picnic basket or two.

KOA is known for its fun family-centered approach to camping. With 21 locations in Texas, your family is sure to find a KOA location in your area of choice. Cabin options can accommodate up to eight, providing room for the whole family. Depending on the location, you may have a beautiful beach view or lake view. Sites offer a variety of activities, including swimming pools, sightseeing piers, fishing trips, large playgrounds, boating options, hiking trails and live entertainment. For your four-legged family members, K-9 playgrounds provide opportunities for your pup to get some exercise while you socialize. Many KOA campgrounds are beachfront and offer spectacular views of bays, lakes or the wilderness.
