You may have all of your party food, decorations and presents ready, but you can’t forget to stock up on the drinks. Obtaining the perfect amount of soda for your kid’s party can be tricky, but you can follow a general drink guideline. This formula takes the guesswork out so you can focus on the more important aspects of the party.
Count the number of kids who will be attending the party. Also include the head count for the parents who will be attending. Get these numbers from the RSVPs that went out with the party invitations.
Multiply your total head count by two to three. The number you get from this calculation will be the minimum number of drinks you should buy.
Go to the store and get the drinks. Buying that amount of soda cans makes it easy and straightforward, but it can get pricey. For a less expensive approach, consider that one serving of soda is 8 ounces and one 2-liter bottle of soda has approximately eight servings. Divide your total number of drinks by eight to figure out how many 2-liter bottles to buy.
Have some extra sodas on hand, just in case. You don’t want to run out mid-party or be short because of unexpected guests.
In addition to soda, have several bottles of water on hand. Kids running around at the party can get dehydrated and thirsty.
Consider offering other beverage options at the party, as well. A selection of 100-percent juice boxes, drinkable yogurt containers and individually wrapped chocolate milk drinks make for healthier choices for the kids.
