North Richland Hills is home to the Dallas-Fort Worth's Family Water Park. Here, your kids can get some thrills sliding down one of the many large waterslides, splash around in the five-story water playground structure, body surf in the wave pool, meander down the lazy river and recharge, relaxing in the beach area. The NRH Centre Aquatics Facility has a rock climbing wall with a plunge pool below, spray pads, a toddler slide and swimming lanes. Private and semi-private swimming lessons for all ages are available year round.
The Nytex Sports Centre is not only the home of the Fort Worth Brahmas CHL hockey team, but it also provides many ice skating activities for the community. Kids can take lessons in basic skating, figure skating and ice hockey. They can participate in the junior hockey league, compete in figure skating, open skate or participate in a broomball game. The Richland Youth Association offers league play for kids in basketball, recreational baseball, premier baseball, cheerleading and football.
If your kids like playing outside, plan to spend some time at the Adventure World Playground, which has a large play structure with several colorful slides, climbing elements and swings. The playground is located in Cross Timbers Park, which also has amenities such as large open fields, nature trails, wildflower area, picnic tables and sports fields. Northfield Park is a 29-acre facility with volleyball courts, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, basketball hoops, picnic tables, grills and a playground. The Lakes at Hometown provides a natural setting with a fishing pier, wildlife preserve and hiking trails.
At Mountasia Family Fun Center kids can bump each other in the bumper boats, race around the track in the go-karts, play a round of mini golf, spend some time in the interactive arcade, see how high they can go on the rock wall and practice their swings in the batting cages. Kiddie rides are available for smaller children. Laser Quest is another option featuring an indoor laser tag arena. Various levels of games are available for groups or individuals.
