Diaper rash is a common problem caused by wet/dirty diapers irritating the skin of babies which results in dermatitis of the thighs and buttocks. It is very itchy and painful. Other causes of diaper rash include foods and drinks that raise ammonia and acid levels in urine/feces and sensitivity to creams and lotions. Natural home remedies for diaper rash include treating the problem with burned flour, which has long been celebrated as a very effective diaper rash cure 3. Burned flour absorbs moisture well and can be used to treat any rash or blisters.

Measure 1/2 cup of plain flour and place in a heavy skillet over stove.

Turn stove burner to medium to high heat and stir flour until well browned, but do not let flour burn.

Place flour in a glass jar. Dust over affected area after every diaper change. The problem should clear up in 2 to 3 days. The flour will stain diapers.
