Pregnancy is an exciting and monumental event that will forever change the lives of a husband and a wife. Although many women will not discover that they are pregnant until they miss a period, a few symptoms present themselves within the first week.

Cramping During Pregnancy

Many women experience mild cramping that may resemble mild menstrual cramps. This cramping can lead many women to believe that they are starting their period, when in fact they are pregnant.

Clear Discharge

Vaginal discharge may appear more clear and cervical mucus may increase during the earliest stages of pregnancy.

Increased Body Temperature

When a woman becomes pregnant, her body temperature rises slightly, which can be detected via daily monitoring with a thermometer.

Fatigue During Pregnancy

The onset of fatigue can happen in the first week of pregnancy, resulting in reduced energy and sluggishness.

Implantation Bleeding During Pregnancy

Mild bleeding can occur in early pregnancy resulting from the fertilized egg implanting itself into the lining of the uterus. The blood will often be brown tinged with pink.
