The Stowe YMCA ( has a program called Parents Morning Out. It’s for 2- to 5-year-olds and is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Sounds perfect, right? The program is set up to prepare young ones for school through educational, physical and social elements. They can learn and grow in a fun environment with other kids their age, while you can go shopping and not have to answer questions every two seconds. The class is open to members and non-members, although the cost is more for non-members.

Lutheran Chapel Church Preschool

If you’re looking for a simple yet secure and nurturing preschool, consider Lutheran Chapel Church (, featuring programs for 2- to 5-year-olds that focus on social, emotional, mental, physical and spiritual growth at the child’s own pace. Fulfilling a need in the community for this kind of program, it has grown into a fully operating preschool. Through programs offered three or five days a week, children work on the alphabet, colors, numbers, shapes, days of the week and months of the year. The school day is four hours long and a mid-morning snack is provided.
