Spend your New Year's Eve celebrating the upcoming new year with the ones you love. In Nashville, often referred to as Music City, your family can enjoy an array of family-friendly events, whether your young family is looking for something fun to do earlier in the day before your little one's bedtime or you're seeking a place to stay up and ring in the new year together.
Your family can enjoy a concert together at the famous Ryman Auditorium on New Year's Eve. Built in 1892 by Captain Tom G. Ryman, this Nashville landmark was once home to the Grand Ole Opry. On New Year's Eve, Old Crow Medicine Show takes the stage each year to celebrate the upcoming new year. This band plays bluegrass, old-time and folk music. Tickets go on sale during September.
Bash on Broadway
Make plans to attend the huge Bash on Broadway in downtown Nashville on Lower Broadway Avenue, between 1st and 5th Avenues. This celebration features live musical entertainment, fireworks, confetti and a giant music note that drops to mark the new year. During the "Family Hour" part of the celebration, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., families can enjoy kid-friendly entertainment, refreshments, an early fireworks display and interactive children's activities.
Adventure Science Center
Celebrate earlier in the day with your kids at the Adventure Science Center's Happy Noon Year event. Arrive in the morning to participate in special activities to make party hats and noise makers. When noon rolls around, your kids can enjoy treats and make fireworks inside with a bubble wrap stomp. After the midday celebration, you can check out all of the hands-on exhibits with your kids, such as Adventure Tower, Body Quest and Space Chase.
Gaylord Opryland Resort
Enjoy your New Year's Eve with a stay at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. On New Year's Eve, the resort has Celebration NYE event packages that include lodging, concert tickets, breakfast and activities. This family-friendly resort features an indoor pool, where your family can enjoy a New Year's Eve swim, as well as an arcade, concerts, fountain shows and a DreamWorks Experience, with characters like Shrek.
More Family Fun
If you're looking for more activities to enjoy on New Year's Eve day, head on over to the Discovery Center with your kids. This children's museum features a shadow room, water play area and nature area. You can bundle up the kids and visit the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere to see more than 2,500 animals from approximately 400 various species.
