The largest park is Carl Barton Jr. Park with 201 acres of recreational space. It feature fishing ponds along with playgrounds, picnic tables, lots of grassy areas and walking trails. John Burge Park at Shadow Lakes has a public art space, a disc golf course and rolling landscape.
The Conroe Aquatic Center provides swimming fun all year round. It has two indoor pools, one for structured swimming programs, fitness and recreation, and the other primarily for diving and jumping, featuring various levels of diving boards and platforms. It also has an zero-depth entry outdoor pool with water slides, splash pads, water blasters, mini slides, play structures, swimming lanes and a giant splash bucket. It has plenty of space to suntan or picnic by the pool.
