How to Do a Beer & Pampers Party

By Erin Ringwald

Beer and Pampers parties involve the father-to-be and his male friends in pre-baby festivities. Most men will not be interested in attending a baby shower for the mother-to-be, but do have some desire to be a part of the excitement. A beer and Pampers party solves that, allowing the men to get together and have fun. Each man brings a pack of Pampers for the father-to-be. You can easily plan your own Beer and Pampers party.

Choose a location to host the party. If it will take place during the warmer months, plan an outside barbeque. In colder months, you might hold an indoor poker party or schedule the party around a big game on television, with that as the central activity.

Schedule the shower to occur at the same time as the shower of the mother-to-be.

Send invitations to the guests with party details. Make sure to specify that this is a men’s only baby shower. Indicate that the guests should bring a pack of Pampers. Specify the size of diapers you prefer, or you can write a different size on each invitation to ensure you get an array of sizes.

Provide plenty of beer and food, such as wings, hot dogs or pizza.

Tip

You can include games for the men at the shower as well, such as filling a three-ounce baby bottle with a beverage such as milk, water or even beer. Have the men race to see who can finish it the fastest. If you are throwing a poker party, the diapers can be the buy-in to the game. For xample, the first pack someone brings buys 500 chips and each additional pack buys an additional 100 chips. You can also plan prizes for the poker winner. Consider throwing a joint party for the mom and dad together, but instruct the men to bring Pampers as a gift for the father-to-be.
